Quantum Disinfection
Are you looking for pathogen free water disinfection?
Produced by CLAIRE Technologies Manufacturing INC, Quantum Disinfection™ (QD) is a new generation of nanocomposite materials with activated surfaces that kills pathogens like bacteria (E.coli, Staphylococcus, Legionella, etc.) viruses (MS2) and protozoa (Cryptosporidium) from water, with no power, no chemicals and no maintenance.
Quantum Disinfection™ is a revolutionary technology that uses the quantum mechanic principles of electron movements in micro-crystals creating powerful catalysts applied, since 2011, for drinking water purification.
Far from the classical disinfection methods (chlorine, alcohol, bromide, ozone or UV), the Quantum Disinfection ceramic catalysts have a discharged surface (a positive quantum field) that attracts electrons. Water simply has to pass over this media and the microorganisms (negatively charged) are instantly killed.

5 micron Carbon Filter
$10.
20 micron Sediment Filter
$6.
High-capacity polypropylene sediment filter made with food-grade polypropylene microfibers. Removes sediment, dirt, sand, silt, rust and scale particles.
Dimensions: 10" x 2.5" This filter should be replaced approximately every 3 months for optimal performance providing the roof, gutters and tank are fairly clean. |
Acid Rain Mineral Pack
$40.
Rainwater has the ability to dissolve heavy metals and impurities from the materials of the catchment and storage tank. While rainwater may lack essential minerals, such as calcium, magnesium, iron, and fluoride, which are crucial for health, adding minerals to the catchment and storage tank can help raise the water's pH level, reducing its acidity.
The Acid Rain Mineral Packs consist of calcite (calcium carbonate) and corosex (magnesium oxide). When placed in a pool float within the catchment tank, these minerals are slowly absorbed into the water as required. They help coat brass components in the plumbing system to prevent lead leaching into the water supply. The Mineral Pack can provide effective mineral absorption for 6-9 months, as the water only takes in the essential minerals it needs. |
Basic Bag
$7.
Uncle Tilo's Basic Bag provides a simple and effective solution for pre-filtering water for your tank. Easily attach it to the end of your tank's inlet pipe to serve as a dependable barrier, capturing large debris, leaves, dead animals and twigs before they enter your system. Enjoy the convenience of easy maintenance - simply remove the bag and give it a quick rinse. Uncle Tilo's Basic Bag offers a hassle-free way to maintain clean water and ensure your system runs smoothly.
Floating Dispenser
$25.
Water Test Kit
$35.
AquaVial, a straightforward one-step water testing method. Simply pour the water to be tested into the provided test tube and observe any color changes. Within 24 hours, you will receive accurate and reliable positive/negative results. The yellow reagent will gradually turn pink if E.Coli or coliform bacteria is present in the water, with easy-to-read results using the color chart included in the box. AquaVial is highly sensitive, capable of detecting E.coli and coliform bacteria concentrations as low as one bacteria per milliliter of sample. |
AquaChek
AquaChek is one of many test strips that can be used when measuring pH and alkalinity in your catchment. Monthly maintenance can not be done without a way to measure the current levels. Neutral water has a pH of 7.0. It is good to keep the pH above 6.0 to reduce leaching of metals and lead into the water supply. Drinking acidic water one should be mindful of dental health. |

NSF ROOF COATING FOR RAINWATER CATCHMENT SYSTEMS
The NSF Protocol P151 and Standard 61 certification offer assurance to public health officials and consumers regarding the safety of system components used in rainwater collection systems and potable water applications. When selecting materials and elastomeric roof coatings for potable water use, it is important to consider potential impurities that rainwater may pick up as it passes through the collection system.

Rainwater Catchment Upgrades
First Flush Diverter
Properly installing a suitably sized First Flush Water Diverter is crucial for ensuring high-quality water. These diverters enhance water quality, minimize tank/cistern maintenance, and safeguard pumps by preventing the initial flush of water, which may carry contaminants from the roof, from entering the tank/cistern. During rainfall, water accumulates slowly in the roof guttering system before being discharged through the downspout. The first flush of water from the roof can contain bacteria from decomposed insects, bird and animal droppings, as well as concentrated tannic acid. It may also contain sediments, waterborne heavy metals, and chemical residues, all of which are undesirable in a water storage system. The diverter works by redirecting initial rainfall away from entering the cistern(s), thereby removing sediment and debris from the collection surface.

Leaf Screen
$95.
Gutter screens effectively block large debris from entering the storage tank but need monthly maintenance. They do not, however, stop small particles from entering the tank. Downspout screens also prevent large debris from entering the tank and are easier to clean as they are typically within reach and do not require a ladder. A tilted screen design enables debris to slide off easily. |
Floating Intake Device
$150.
In many rainwater catchment systems, water is typically drawn from the tank's bottom where sediment, decaying leaves, and organic materials tend to accumulate. Drawing water from this lower level often results in carrying a significant amount of debris. The dirtier the water extracted from the tank, the quicker it can clog filters and potentially contain harmful contaminants. By utilizing a floating intake device to draw water from closer to the surface, where there is typically less debris and contaminants, water quality can be improved. This approach leads to enhanced water quality, ultimately saving both time and money. |
Overflow Device
$125.
This is an ideal time to inspect your overflow pipe, a critical component to monitor when your rainwater tanks reach capacity. Utilizing an overflow device serves two purposes: it provides an outlet for excess incoming water and aids in removing floating debris from the water's surface within the tank when properly installed. Establishing a pathway for incoming water is essential to prevent overflow, safeguard the tank's structure, and prevent premature failure of vinyl liners. Additionally, removing debris from the water's surface aligns with our low-maintenance approach to enhancing water quality in your tank. A correctly installed overflow features an inlet pipe positioned higher inside the tank and a slightly lower exit level outside the tank.
